The brothers threatened the man with an AR-15-type rifle and a shotgun and forced him into the residence. The brothers then zip-tied the man’s wife and adult son.The family was held for nearly nine hours, with the suspects demanding crypto transfers. The father was taken to a cabin to retrieve a hard-drive wallet, and initial transfers totalled $36,000; more money was transferred from the cabin wallet. The son managed to call the police during a brief lapse in vigilance by the kidnappers.The defendants are Raymond and Isiah Garcia, from Texas. Federal and state officials trailed them through surveillance footage and receipts.The arrest was effected in Waller, Texas, on the 22nd of September. Isiah admitted to having driven from Texas and considered himself a participant in the commission of the offence.Authorities recovered no stolen cryptocurrency during the arrests. Federal kidnapping charges and the state ones for armed robbery and burglary are their names.This case is one of the largest kidnapping cases with $8-million cryptocurrency theft case.
