About this free SEO tool
This keyword density checker tokenizes English-oriented page copy, counts repeated terms and phrases, and reviews a focus keyword if you provide one. It can work from pasted text or from the visible server-rendered HTML of a public URL.
The score is an editorial checklist: length, variety, focus-term presence, stuffing risk and sentence shape. A page can be useful and rank well without a perfect score. Density is a revision aid, not a ranking prediction.

How density is calculated
For a focus phrase, density is (occurrences × words in the phrase ÷ total tokens) × 100. The top-keyword table uses content words only, after common English stop words are removed, so “the” and “and” do not crowd the list.
Stuffing versus emphasis
Repeating a phrase in a title, an early sentence, a heading and a close is often natural. Looping the same two words through every paragraph is not. The checker flags very high densities and consecutive repeats so you can reread those passages.
URL mode versus paste mode
Paste mode is best when you already have the draft. URL mode uses the same public-host, public-port and redirect checks as the Meta Tag Checker, then strips script and style nodes before counting words.

How the Content Score Works
The 100-point score adds usable length (up to 15), lexical variety (10), focus-term presence and a mid-range density (up to 27), lack of extreme repeats (12), extracted phrases (13), readable sentence length (8), a balanced stop-word share (7), multiple sentences (5) and a successful URL fetch when used (5). Critical stuffing or empty samples cap the score.

What is keyword density?
Keyword density is the share of a text taken up by a word or phrase. This checker reports count and percentage after normalizing case, stripping markup and splitting on word boundaries.
What keyword density should I aim for?
There is no official search-engine target. This tool treats roughly 0.5% to 3% as a practical editorial range for a focus phrase and flags values around 4.5% or higher as a stuffing risk. Write for readers first.
Does higher density help rankings?
No reliable public ranking system publishes a density quota. Repeating a phrase until the copy sounds unnatural can hurt readability and trust. Use density as a revision check, not a ranking lever.
How does this checker count words?
It lowercases the text, removes most punctuation, and splits on whitespace. Very short tokens are ignored in the content-word list. Common English stop words are excluded from the top-keyword table but still counted in the full token total used for focus-phrase density.
Why can pasted text differ from a fetched page?
URL mode reads server-returned HTML and drops script, style and similar elements. Content injected only after JavaScript runs will not appear unless you paste the rendered text yourself.
Are two-word and three-word phrases search keywords?
They are repeated n-grams in the content-word stream. They help you spot stock phrases and accidental loops. They are not a promise of how a search engine tokenizes queries.
