RPL for Computer Engineers: ACS Skill Assessment Guide
RPL for computer engineers through the Australian Computer Society is the most practical migration route for professionals who have built strong careers in software development, networking, cybersecurity, systems support, or ICT infrastructure but whose degree sits in electrical engineering, electronics, mechanical engineering, or another non-ICT field. Rather than requiring a new qualification, ACS's Recognition of Prior Learning process evaluates the depth and relevance of your actual professional experience against the competency requirements of your nominated ANZSCO occupation. The submission consists of two project reports of 500 to 1,000 words each, a Key Areas of Knowledge statement covering essential and general ICT knowledge, employment reference letters confirming paid ICT work at a minimum of 20 hours per week, a CV, and identity documents. A minimum of six years of relevant experience is required for non-ICT tertiary qualified applicants, or eight years for those without any degree at all.
