Chroma key method removes a certain colour from a picture, enabling that piece of the image to be substituted. This colour can be any solid colour; however, it is most often blue or green. The act of eliminating a solid colour from a picture is also known as chroma keying. This means that both "I used a chroma key on the video" and "I chroma keyed this video" are accurate. The method is often referred to as "keying" or "keying out."
